This opportunity is for Military personnel who are current participants of Hiring Our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program Cohort 3-2020

As a member of CDN performance team, you will be responsible for constant improvement to the user experience that access content from our CDN partners. You will be working on CDN traffic management, configurations, performance monitoring, capacity management, and escalations from operations or consumer point of view.

This is an opportunity to work in a global network engineering department, on a team that is heavily involved in every facet of improving the overall customer experience. You'll partner closely with other teams to make our services more reliable and perform better each day. Contributes to the overall strategic vision of the Content Delivery Network (CDN) organization to analyze requirements, design/test solutions in an end-to-end environment. Engineer will take on Application/CDN projects and will require coordination across multiple business units. This position will specifically be focused on the performance of platforms involved in the direct serving of content across multiple CDN vendors.

The Engineer will collaborate with our content delivery partners to create minimum requirements for reliability and resiliency, including definition and monitoring of CDN performance KPIs.

Video performance KPIs will be created, monitored, and tested to ensure our customers are receiving the best experience possible.

  • Understanding of CDN best practices and industry standard KPIs and how to measure
  • Understanding of Content Delivery Networks, video streaming and OTT concepts
  • Work with CDN partners and other engineering groups to verify performance and coordinate responses to any incidents
  • Develop and monitor CDN performance and metrics
  • Knowledge of networking and application protocols, such as TCP/IP, HTTP/S, DNS, QUIC and Anycast
  • Assist in initiatives and projects to develop new CDN performance solutions
  • Assist in testing guidance to satisfy technical requirements that address management, scalability, performance and redundancy
  • Document and communicate standards for managing CDN performance
  • Provide peer review on architecture and designs developed to support projects not directly assigned to ensure alignment with overall CDN directionEngage in the forward-looking planning and decision-making process to ensure the CDN product is in a continuous improvement cycle to support the business strategy

What we’re looking for...

  • Must be a current participant of Hiring our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program Cohort 3-2020
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent education with 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Protocols: DNS, SNMP, HTTP/S, TCP, UDP, BBR, QUIC, Anycast, Adaptive Streaming
  • Excellent documentation/technical writing skills required
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication skills
