Alion is seeking skilled talent to join a team that identifies, acquires, develops, manages and analyzes geospatial intelligence data to support the production of virtual, constructive and gaming simulation terrain for the US Department of Defense. This VBS3 Content Developer position will support 3D model and gaming terrain requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Produce 3-D virtual & VBS3 terrain databases
• Work with geo-specific, geo-typical, and dynamic 3D models, and coordinate with 3D modeling staff to accurately place and troubleshoot models
• Prepare geographic data for use in constructive and virtual terrain databases
• Identify production process optimization; testing visual attributes to ensure features and models are rendered correctly as part of the virtual terrain database
• Update and maintain terrain database library
• Coordinate and liaison with source data providers and exercises planner's/ customers
• Conduct field data collection activities

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Geography or Geospatial Information Systems or similar discipline and 2-4 yrs of experience. In some cases educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 8 years applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Experience with Bohemia Interactive (BI) Development Suite is required. Additional experience with First Person Shooter computer & console games, as a player or world builder, is desirable.

Experience with one or more commercial GIS software packages, including ArcGIS, ERDAS Imagine, or Global Mapper is required

Experience with one or more 3D model generation software tools such as 3Ds Max, Presagis Creator, Maya, Adobe Photoshop, and Blender

Familiarity with Presagis Terra Vista terrain database development tools is a plus

Understanding of visual database concepts, remotely sensed imagery, terrain modeling, and synthetic environments is required

Experience with Jira and Confluence a plus

Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to work in a team environment is required

On-site support required. Must Interface with customers on a daily basis

Must be a US Citizen and currently hold and able to maintain a Secret clearance
