SUMMARY:

Drives feed truck withcapacity of more than three tons transporting materials to and from specifieddestinations by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Drives truck to destination
• Collects appropriate documents for goods delivered and for delivery charges
• Maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations
• Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions. Loads and unloads truck
• Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water
• Performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains and spark plugs
• Positions secure cargo according to standards during transit
• Operate vehicle in a safe and courteous manner
• Maintains updated and legal CDL
• Performs other duties as defined by manager

Ordinary Methods of Job Performance:

• Climbinto and out of Cab Over Engine and conventional trucks by grabbing handbarwith two hands and placing one foot on step and pulling yourself up whilepushing yourself up with your feet. Reverse to climb out.

• Hookup trailer to tractor which includes backing under trailer, raising ladinggear, climbing on cat walk to hook up air lines

• Handlemanual transmission and double clutch

• Sitfor long periods of time

• Duringpre-trip of equipment be able to climb into engine area; bend, stoop, crawl,climb on cat walk

• Rollup and roll down landing gear which requires two hands and upper torso when onground and one when clears ground

• Climbinto and out of trailer

• Openand close trailer doors which can require use of both arms and hands

• Useboth hands to release locking mechanisms on tandems. May require placing footon tire for leverage.

• Getin and out of cab when in tight places such as fuel islands

• Walkon slick surfaces such as fuel islands at truck stops

• Moveupper torso when backing which may require leaning out window to see blind spotand/or mirrors

• Placeload locks under tractor if no room in tractor or load is sealed. Requires crawling, stooping, and holding loadlock in pace with hands and shoulders while extending device to stay in place.
