Globe University/Minnesota School of Business has an immediate opening for a Program Chair Veterinary Technology.
Provide programmatic support to faculty, staff, and students and review programmatic needs and recommendations to the Network Program Dean. Individuals in this position are expected to initiate and support service and applied learning initiatives, accreditation requirements, Globe Education Network program-specific needs, and to engage in ongoing efforts to provide training to internal departments. Specific duties based on the program area are also required. Work schedule may vary.

Responsibility:
Program Engagement: >
  • Promote and support service and applied learning initiatives within the program; Assist the Service Learning Coordinator with programmatic considerations
  • Develop and provide program-specific training for new faculty members within the program; provide ongoing support of all faculty members in the program
  • Develop and implement strategies for improving community awareness of the academic program
  • Provide classroom instruction
  • Collaborate with Career Services to identify potential partnership opportunities (placement, externships, etc.) in the community
  • Develop and provide training on programmatic updates to internal and external constituents
  • Participate in New Student Orientation and New Faculty Orientation
  • Identify and implement opportunities for students to engage in program-specific competitions
  • Participate in professional growth and in-service activities, including belonging to professional associations (if available)
    Program Relevance
  • Communicate regularly with the Network Program Dean regarding program-specific needs and challenges
  • Responsible for all aspects of annual Program Advisory Committee (PAC) meetings and quarterly Curriculum Committee meetings with the assistance of the Dean of Faculty; post meeting minutes on time
  • Lead department meetings; maintain meeting minutes
  • Ensure that faculty use the common curriculum; ensure that program-specific competencies are completed
  • Advise program-specific student organizations as directed
  • Work with the Dean of Faculty and Network Program Dean to identify best practices for classroom instruction
    Program Engagement: >
  • Meet programmatic and accreditation requirements per Globe Education Network standards (ACICS, AVMA, ABHES, OSHA, DEA, etc.)
  • Conduct initial review of qualified applicants for faculty positions within the program and make candidate recommendations to the Dean of Faculty; evaulate teaching demonstrations
  • Provide feedback on course schedule to the Dean of Students
  • Provide advising services to students on an ongoing basis
  • Substitute for classes if available and as requested by the Dean of Faculty
  • Demonstrate use of recommendations in the Program Implementation Guide
  • Work with the Dean of Faculty to ensure that attendance, grades, and learner outcome assessment scores are entered on time
  • Develop and implement retention strategies (faculty and student) within the program
  • Assist the Dean of Faculty in monitoring faculty performance within the program; work with the Dean of Faculty to address concerns





  • Education/work experience requirements:

    To qualify candidates should:



    • All Program Chairs must have a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in the field of study
    • CVT or DVM
