Position Description

Technical Specialist
Department- LIAISON
Hours: Wednesday – Sunday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
 
Job Purpose:
This position is responsible for material processing, reagent formulation, technical manufacturing, in-process and final quality control of reagents, components and in-vitro diagnostic products.
 
Essential Functions:
  • Performs material processing and reagent formulation for bulk intermediates and components
  • Perform in-process and final Quality control for LIAISON products
  • Perform validation testing as needed
  • Analyze testing results of technical manufacturing, quality control or product performance to determine acceptability of product relative to established requirements(with limited assistance)
  • Basic SAP use to ensure accurate inventory and accounting
  • Demonstrated ability to write DS/TCN and use risk assessment at basic level
  • Performs second checking activities accurately and completely
  • Demonstrated competency running LIAISON® Instrument
  • Participate in inventory accountability - PSA count, cycle counts, accurate kitting, etc.
  • Maintain clean work space in QC and Reagent Prep labs
  • Contribute to group Reagent Prep and QC duties, including lab and equipment maintenance
  • Participate in team meetings and attend all group training sessions.
  • Follow regulatory requirements – follow document instructions and maintain reasonable documentation error rates, to improve as training progresses 
  • Ensure the maintenance of proper documents by correcting any documentation errors noted with significant help from supervisor or an experienced team member
 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Biology, Medical Technology or related science field or a 2 year degree (i.e. MLT) with equivalent experience
  • 0-2 years of related laboratory experience
  • Basic understanding of immunology and immunoassay techniques
  • Knowledge of good manufacturing practices
  • Working knowledge of general lab equipment
  • Basic understanding of statistical analysis
  • Basic Microsoft Excel skills are desirable
