Job Description

The Emergency Medical Service Advanced Instructor is primarily responsible instruction of ALS level courses, with the ability to play a lead role. This position instructs courses independently and cooperatively with per diem instructors. This position may instruct lay-rescuer, EMR, EMT, AEMT and Paramedic and/or AHA courses. The instructor must be able to develop curriculum at both the basic and advanced level and be able and willing to instruct at the basic level as needed. Advanced instructor duties include participation in mandatory development and preparatory meetings, preparation and clean-up of classroom and skills materials/equipment including driving to off-site locations, evaluation of material and active participation in the improvement of this material, taking a lead role when appropriate, and supporting program development and special projects.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum two (2) years of full-time work experience in a pre-hospital, emergency or critical care setting.
  • Minimum two (2) years of teaching or mentoring experience.
  • Current NREMT Minnesota License or Wisconsin Paramedic License OR Current Minnesota or Wisconsin Nurse Licensure.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
