About the Job

The University of Minnesota, Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery welcomes applications for a full-time Assistant/Associate Professor on the academic or clinician track (track to be determined by qualification and interest).

Practice:
This individual will join a multidisciplinary team, which currently includes three faculty laryngologists and seven dedicated speech pathologists with specific expertise in voice and upper airway disorders. The team also works closely with multiple swallow-focused speech pathologists.

Candidates will be expected to build a full-time laryngology practice. The individual will provide clinical services at the University of Minnesota Medical Center/M Health. Candidates with a strong commitment to developing a clinical research program are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited ACGME Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery residency program.
  • Completion of a Laryngology fellowship or equivalent.
  • American Board of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery eligible/certified.
  • Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain DEA certification in the State of Minnesota.
  • Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.
  • Ability to receive work authorization in the United States from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of VISA category while in the United States, if applicable.
  • Commitment to outstanding patient care.
  • Desire to work collaboratively with other specialties and colleagues.
  • Enthusiasm for educating medical learners.
  • Interest in enhancing the knowledge foundation of the specialty through regular engagement in relevant research and/or quality improvement.
  • Professionalism and commitment to academic and subspecialty societies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, self-motivation, and written and verbal communication skills.
