Job Description

Qualifications

High School Diploma with two years housekeeping experience. Must be able to work evenings and weekends, including some Sundays and be able to follow instructions and work as a team player. Must possess a valid MN driver's license, have a good driving record, meet the MVR drivers' qualifications and pass the background checks.

Summary of Position

The Asst. Cook/Housekeeping will be responsible (under the supervision of the Guest Services and Contracts Manager) to assist in the maintenance of camp facilities, grounds and equipment, kitchen services and janitorial. The incumbent will also assist with meal preparation, kitchen order/cleanliness. This is a temporary full time position with work week expectation from 200 - 40 hours a week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters and maintains positive relationships with co-workers and supervisors. This would include but not be limited to such actions: resolution of conflicts in a positive manner; courteous treatment of staff, clients and visitors; respect of others' property and person, professional and appropriate communication to and about co-workers, supervisors and subordinates. Housekeeping

1. Perform all housekeeping tasks including the cleaning of cabins, dorms, and guest quarters (as

assigned)

2. Clean and sanitize all restrooms and fill all dispensers; soap, paper towel, toilet paper.

3. Clean commercial kitchen and dining room daily and deep clean as assigned.

4. Clean windows and doors as assigned.

5. Follow all safety rules.

6. Keep all maintenance and janitorial supplies in good order.

7. Report safety hazards to supervisor.

Cook

1. Prepares daily meals in accordance with the menu plan for the day.

2. Assists with serving meals and dining room operations.

3. Maintain the kitchen and food preparation area to meet the highest standard of cleanliness and in accordance with Department of Health requirements. Keep the kitchen in good order.

4. Provide a menu and purchase food that is needed for meals.

5. Plan and prepare facility meals in accordance with menus, making allowances for clients medically approved special dietary needs.

6. And all other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

There are normally no hazardous or significantly unpleasant physical working conditions, with the exception of the occasional emotional distress or turmoil (due to varying situations) with and between staff and/or clients. The essential duties and responsibilities of this position cannot be performed from home.
