HDR is currently seeking a Transit Section Manager to join our Minnesota/Wisconsin team.

Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Transit Section Manager, we'll count on you to:

  • Lead a team of transit staff supporting projects related to bus rapid transit, passenger rail, commuter rail, light rail, and streetcar systems and facilities
  • Take responsibility for operations of production section including staff development, profitability, morale, quality control and marketing support
  • Work with business group managers, business development leaders, accounting, project coordinators, and management as necessary for project delivery and marketing
  • Function as Project Manager and take responsibility for production on projects in addition to management responsibilities
  • Take administrative responsibility for section staff and technical service functions, and lead and coordinate services with other sections
  • Be involved in marketing planning, proposals and interviews
  • Be directly involved with public clients in marketing, project production and related issues. Serve as client manager for our major local clients
  • See that all work is planned, organized, controlled and evaluated through proactive project management
  • Implement, monitor and support company policy
  • Hire, train, develop and manage technical personnel
  • Manage and develop multidiscipline teams
  • Work cooperatively with Market Sector and Business Class leadership in local and national marketing and production efforts
  • Perform other duties as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • A minimum of 10 years experience
  • Professional registration (PE) or license
  • Requires in-office collaboration often (3-4 days a week on average) at HDR's St. Louis Park office
  • Strong communication and listening skills
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments
  • Good leadership and organizational skills
  • Experience within public agencies in Minnesota and Wisconsin
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
