We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced MDU Sales Manager to lead our team of account executives dedicated to servicing the multi-dwelling unit (MDU) market. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and growing our portfolio of MDU properties by selling advanced technology solutions and maintaining strong relationships with property owners, developers, and managers. This role requires a blend of sales expertise, leadership abilities, and technical knowledge in the telecommunications field.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced MDU Sales Manager to lead our team of account executives dedicated to servicing the multi-dwelling unit (MDU) market. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and growing our portfolio of MDU properties by selling advanced technology solutions and maintaining strong relationships with property owners, developers, and managers. This role requires a blend of sales expertise, leadership abilities, and technical knowledge in the telecommunications field.

Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership and Management: Lead a team of MDU account executives, ensuring they meet or exceed sales targets. Provide mentorship, training, and support to team members, encouraging professional growth and excellence.
  • Business Development: Proactively identify and harvest new growth opportunities by selling advanced technology solutions, including bulk internet services, WiFi Ready solutions to new and existing clients in the multifamily segment.
  • Sales and Negotiation: Deliver compelling sales presentations to MDU real-estate decision-makers, demonstrating in-depth knowledge of the latest consumer-based products and services. Develop consultations and proposals that position our services as essential amenities.
  • Market Intelligence: Maintain awareness of the competitive landscape and emerging technologies to strategically position the company in the marketplace. Develop a sales territory by forming local partnerships and organizational affiliations.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders, including C-suite executives, property owners, co-op/condo boards, attorneys, building managers, and government officials.
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate knowledge of residential physical network design principles, including FTTP, GPON, and XGSPON technologies, and the core components involved (e.g., switches, routers, APs, Taps, OLT, ONT). Explain the advantages of each network type and their impact on developers, property managers, and end users.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate sales records and prepare detailed sales and activity reports as required, primarily within SalesForce.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with sales peers and other departments to address market development needs, customer escalations, and enhancements to back-office processes and systems that promote an excellent customer experience.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, with at least 2 years in a leadership role managing sales teams, preferably within the telecommunications or technology sector.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and effectively managing sales teams.
  • Strong understanding of MDU market dynamics and the telecommunications industry.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed.
  • Proficiency in SalesForce and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel within serviceable areas

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • Advanced certifications in sales, marketing, or technology (e.g., Certified Sales Professional (CSP), Project Management Professional (PMP)).
  • Experience with advanced telecommunications systems and knowledge of the latest industry trends and technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability in strategic planning and execution of sales strategies in the MDU market.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, with a knack for forecasting market trends and aligning sales strategies accordingly.

Related Work Experience

  • MDU Sales Management: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a sales leadership role, directly managing and coaching a team of account executives focused on the MDU sector.
  • Telecommunications Industry Experience: Extensive experience working within the telecommunications industry, with a thorough understanding of products and services relevant to the MDU market. Familiarity with the operational and technical aspects of telecommunications services.
  • Strategic Account Development: Proven track record of developing and executing successful sales strategies for acquiring and retaining MDU accounts. Experience in contract negotiation, relationship building, and strategic partnerships.
  • Technical Sales and Consultation: Experience in delivering technical sales presentations and consultations, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into understandable and compelling sales propositions.
  • Market Analysis and Lead Generation: Demonstrated ability to conduct market analysis, identify growth opportunities, and generate leads through various prospecting activities, including cold calling, networking, and leveraging digital marketing techniques.
  • Customer Relationship Management: History of building and maintaining long-term relationships with key decision-makers in the MDU sector. Experience in handling customer escalations and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

Salary

Pay range (commensurate with skills and experience): $67,632 - $102,511
