What you will do:

Direct Support Professionals work directly with people with disabilities in a community-based setting, assisting them with personal care and life-enrichment activities as needed. This position would work at multiple sites.

  • Communication - Speak clearly; listen to others; write effectively; establish relationships; act with integrity; establish trust
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable legal requirements and accreditation standards. Ensures that all department activities are conducted consistent with Rise's Code of Conduct, CARF standards, and HIPAA policies and procedures.
  • Model appropriate behavior and interactions
  • Assist with lifting and transferring adults to/from wheelchairs and assist with personal care
  • Continually inspire personal growth in the people you support by establishing and achieving personal goals and implementing person-centered practices
  • Design innovative community integration activities (volunteering, outdoor, social) and support persons served on these community outings
  • Provide transportation of persons supported in Rise' vans and buses as needed

Float Requirements:

  • Provide case management support as necessary
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with team members at assigned locations while working as a float DSP (Direct Support Professional)
  • Maintain medication administration certification
  • Seamlessly fill in at multiple sites, some of which are have persons served with high needs.
  • Maintains a high level of flexibility and accepts a fluid work schedule to meet program needs.
  • Assist and mentor DSP levels 1 and 2 in training as needed
Requirements

What you will need:

  • Technology skills: Comfortable working with computers, Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Teams, etc.). and database management systems - Learn software systems to complete routine tasks.
  • Current, valid driver's license and a driving record that demonstrates safe, legal driving habits
  • Compliance with DHS (Department of Human Services) Rule 11 and Rise MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) background checks required
  • Reliable work attendance
  • Ability to work well with others

Preferred Education, Experience, and other Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a social services organization is preferred.
  • Experience practicing person-centered techniques with people with disabilities?
  • Detail-oriented, results-driven, efficient, and communicative.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize appropriately.

  • Hiring Bonus: $1,000 ($500 after 6-month work anniversary and $500 after 12-month work anniversary)
  • Starting Wage: $20.40/per hr., depending on qualifications
