Job Summary:

The Star Tribune has a great opportunity for a Digital Campaign Manager. As a member of our Digital Advertising and Marketing Operations team, the Digital Campaign Manager will execute, manage, and optimize campaigns across Star Tribune properties and partnerships. You will also assist with retaining and growing digital account revenue by implementing digital marketing campaign strategies and monitoring the performance against established benchmarks using internal and 3rd party reporting systems.

The ideal Digital Campaign Manager will have proven agency or client-side experience setting up, managing, and optimizing digital marketing campaigns. The Digital Campaign Manager must be able to prepare, monitor, and evaluate key conversion actions and KPIs while understanding the intricacies of a multi-channel approach. By utilizing dashboards, analyzing patterns, usage and trends, and problem-solving, this person will collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide learnings and make real-time adjustments.

Key results/responsibilities:

  • Execute set up of digital marketing campaigns.
  • Ensure timely trafficking of all digital advertising campaigns in ad serving platforms.
  • Verify technical requirements on proposals built by account executives and digital strategists.
  • Manage, prioritize, and respond to ad-hoc requests as assigned.
  • Work with internal teams to fulfill demand on O&O platforms using audience strategies and other targeting.
  • Understand and maintain inventory lists.
  • Subject matter expert for Display Media (banner, mobile, video, OTT, CTV).
  • Campaign troubleshooting and optimization for performance.
  • Understand and find synergies across digital channels within the client mix partnership with other team members.
  • Coach sales professionals on our products and their capabilities.
  • Research and stay abreast of current industry best practices and trends, develop, and maintain digital best practices, and promote digital optimization techniques.

Qualifications:

  • Self-starter and problem solver.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Prioritization and time management skills to handle multiple competing projects and tight deadlines.
  • Work well in a team.
  • Process-driven.
  • Hands-on digital media planning, execution, and optimization experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in marketing, communications, or related field.
  • Experience with Ad Server technology (Google Ad Manager and DCM).
  • Knowledge with Demand Side Platforms (DSPs) such as The Trade Desk or Simpli.fi.
  • 2+ years relevant experience with a brand, agency, or publisher.
  • Experience with Analytics tools (Google Analytics, Omniture, etc.)
  • Knowledge about our digital suite of products (Display, Email, SEM/SEO).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with ad serving platforms such as Google Ad Manager and DCM.
  • Experience with Tag Management Solutions such as GTM, Tealium, or Adobe Tag Manager
  • MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint proficiency.
  • General knowledge/experience with HTML and/or Javascript.
