DescriptionKey Responsibilities:
Responsible for entire workflow and successful outcome of each engine rebuild to include:
* Generates annual budget and ensures compliance with annual operating plan. Analyzes daily operational results
* Anticipates and participates in planning process for rebuild business growth
* Responsible for meeting rebuild business objectives relative to volume, efficiency, quality and inventory turns
* Responsible for maintaining rebuild quality standards as defined by customer and Cummins guidelines
* Collaborates with Manager of Health, Safety and Environment to promote a safe workplace and ensure compliance with all OSHA and Cummins safety standards
* Fosters an environment of collaborative continuous improvement using LEAN, Six Sigma and related process improvement tools
* Represents the company to customers directly or indirectly, handles escalated problems, develops solutions to maintain highest customer loyalty ratings
* Acts as liaison between Rebuild Operations and branch locations
* Communicates with branch personnel and market leaders to forecast and meet delivery requirements. Regularly assists branches in fostering key customer relationships are critical to organizational success
* Creates quote and presents to Branch. Updates branches on work in progress
* Monitors completion of warranty claims, assists in resolving warranty issues and maintaining unrecovered warranty at minimal rate
* Obtains and coordinates support from other departments when needed
* Identifies and recommends improvements to maximize department effectiveness
* Ensures adequate parts inventory for planned and unplanned rebuild work Coordinates material flow and fosters key supplier relationships
* Supervises assigned technicians to quality excellence. Schedules and plans technician's work, facilitates efficient work flow
* Monitors key productivity indicators and resolves issues resulting from substandard performance
* Demonstrates fairness and consistency
* Conducts performance reviews and resolves personnel issues, sets goals and identifies training and development needs. Administers company policies and CBA appropriately, to encourage employee satisfaction and retention. Consults with and obtains approval from Rebuild General Manager on matters of significance i.e. staffing, hire and termination
* Identifies rebuild growth opportunities and provides leadership to ensure successful deployment

Functional/Technical Qualifications:
* Prior experience with Oracle or other materials/manufacturing planning systems
* Five to ten years management experience in diesel rebuild, manufacturing or related industry
* Able to multi-task in a fast paced work environment where standard operating procedures do not always exist. Ability to alter priorities as required to meet established deadlines
* Excellent customer support skills that demonstrate "Customer Support Excellence" philosophy and standards
* Experience with key system improvement processes including, Lean, Six Sigma, work and materials flow, and parts procurement
* Demonstrated proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications. Ability to learn and lead implementation of new ERP in Rebuild Center
* Excellent customer support skills encompassing the "Customer Support Excellence" philosophy and standards
* Strong planning, organizational and time management skills
* Ability to communicate technical information effectively
* Excellent communication skills (active listening, writing, speaking in person and via phone)
