Job Overview

The Network/Server Administrator is responsible for set-up and support of TruStone Financial's servers and networked equipment, including all applicable hardware and software. This position ensures that networks and systems are running optimally with minimal disruption to users. Additionally, this role serves as the primary contact for vendors regarding networking equipment.

A day in the life of a Network/Server Administrator may include:

  • Configuring and maintaining equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, IDS/IPS, encryption, remote access, etc.
  • Providing assistance as a level three escalation point for complex troubleshooting items as well as telecommunications technical support
  • Maintaining and developing a Windows environment, including: Microsoft Office, Windows 7, Active Directory, SharePoint, Microsoft Exchange, PowerShell, Microsoft Server 2008, and 2012, SQL Server, NTFS, Group Policy and RDP
  • Database management in SQL, Oracle and other vendor databases; managing inventory audits

To excel as a Network/Server Administrator, these accountabilities will be key to your success:

  • Be a Subject Matter Expert - Be a go-to resource for networking questions and equipment or software issues. Have a comprehensive understanding of network configurations for LAN, WAN, telecommunications and IP Telephony, as well as a working knowledge of Cisco networking infrastructure.
  • Be a Problem-Solver - Plan and organize to keep projects moving along smoothly. Anticipate potential roadblocks and work to find solutions. Create and maintain necessary documentation for security and compliance purposes.
  • Be a Great Neighbor - Communicate and build relationships with business partners at all levels to take care of the credit union's IT needs. Work as a team in the IT department to get the job done.

Qualifications

  • Four-year degree in a computer/business related field OR equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in a related position
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft products
  • CCNET/CCNA (preferred)
