Job Title: Modiflex Supervisor

Department: Operations

Reports To: Operations Manager

Location: Cottage Grove, MN

FLSA Status: Exempt

Summary:

The Modiflex Supervisor plays a crucial role in supporting our purpose of being our customers' competitive advantage by providing strong leadership to promote Safety, Quality, and Production in daily operations. The Modiflex Supervisor inspires and motivates others to perform to their fullest potential, effectively influences the actions and opinions of others, accepts feedback from others, and gives appropriate recognition. This individual must have the proven ability to foster a quality- focused environment and improve processes, products, and services. Responsibilities of this individual include coaching, mentoring and developing others while directing and supervising the day to day operations of the team. The supervisor will partner with our Sales, Engineering, and Operations teams to effectively plan and organize production builds that meet targets for cost, quality, schedule, and customer satisfaction. A successful Modiflex Supervisor is a self-starter, works autonomously, and has strong communication and leadership skills. This individual will coach, mentor, and promote our culture through the 5Ps.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

* Manages the productivity, efficiency, and quality of the Modiflex team.

* Assign shift duties for a safe, accurate, and efficient workflow

* Provide leadership and guidance to team members

* Identify potential in others and effectively develop them

* Keep team members focused and engaged on short and long term goals

* Ensure team meets or exceeds Safety, Quality, and Production goals

* Provide daily direction and support to team members through coaching and continuous feedback

* Interface with Sales to report progress/project tracking, determine schedule commitments, handle expedited requests, resolve non-conformances

* Maintain a clean working environment at all times

* Maximize line capacity, work flow, and control operator performance to achieve daily production targets

* Audit quality of assemblies and processes to ensure continuous improvement

* Responsible for coordination with sub-contractors: scheduling short ships, transporting, etc...

* Promote lean manufacturing, 5S and environmental sustainability goals and procedures

* Inform maintenance personnel (vendors) of any breakdowns and redirect employees when machinery is under repair

* Coordinate with sales to set minimums for assemblies that are stocked

* Ensure team members complete all required production reports/inspections

* Assist in monitoring compliance/adherence of all company policies and safety rules

* Serve as liaison between production team and management

* Verify prints match SOPs, inspections, and final product

* Complete final QC inspection on product before movement to inventory. Sign-off on assembly inspection checklist

* Encourage creative thinking and continuous improvement within the team

* Ensure a successful training program is in place for all team members

* Analyze daily reports and custom spreadsheets

* Assign team members to other departments when work flow dictates

* Promote our culture and 5 P's

Job Requirements/Specifications:

* High School diploma or GED required

* Two year degree preferred

* Three to five years previous experience in manufacturing with supervisory experience

* Strong knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma concepts

* Electrical product knowledge is a plus

* Ability to lift 70 lbs occasionally

* Ability to operate lift truck equipment

* Ability to work an extended shift to complete work tasks as needed

* Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time

* Knowledge of Eclipse preferred

* Knowledge of handheld RF scanner is a plus

Work Environment & Physical Demands:
