Established in 1970, Inver Hills Community College helps students achieve a wide range of educational goals by focusing on two-year college degrees (associate degrees). Students can prepare to transfer to a four-year college or university through the associate in arts degree program, or pursue more immediate career opportunities by completing one of the colleges many associate in science or associate in applied science programs. Inver Hills also offers shorter-term learning opportunities through certificate programs, selected course sequences and non-credit continuing education programs.

Located on 90 acres in the Twin Cities suburb of Inver Grove Heights, the campus is just 10 minutes from the cultural and educational resources of downtown St. Paul.

Inver Hills is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is certified as eligible to receive federal funds and programs. Other accredited institutions throughout the United States will accept satisfactorily-completed credits from Inver Hills Community College that are college level and appropriate to the student's baccalaureate objectives. The college also holds program-specific accreditation by such organizations as the American Bar Association and the National League for Nursing.
