Founded in 1990 in Duluth, Minnesota, Saturn Systems has been a true software engineering company from the beginning. Starting out in the world of federal defense work with a focus on device control and integration, an engineering culture of exacting detail and quality results was established and remains today. While device control is still a part of the business, enterprise applications and systems integration now make up the majority of our work. Projects ranging from new development to support and enhancement of existing and legacy systems, Saturn engineers have experience across a wide variety of industry verticals.
Coupled with a strong expertise in software development is a Rural Outsourcing business model that delivers our services at significantly lower costs when compared to those of metropolitan firms. Our rates and technical strengths make Saturn Systems a perfect alternative between high cost metro firms and the inherent difficulties of using offshore providers.

Saturn Systems has positioned itself as a high skill software engineering firm. Nearly all of our engineers hold Bachelor’s degrees in computer science or computer engineering, with many having Master’s degrees. Saturn Systems benefits from the presence of two local universities and a highly rated private college, all of which offer degrees in Computer Science. Saturn encourages students interested in a career in software development by sponsoring two annual scholarships for Computer Science and Computer Engineering students at the University of Minnesota, Duluth (UMD). Additionally, Saturn Systems has sponsored a renewable scholarship through the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation for area high school graduates pursuing a computer related degree at UMD.
