Company Overview

myHealth for Teens & Young Adults is a 501(c)3 nonprofit health clinic. myHealth's mission is to improve the health of our community by providing health services and information that support teens and young adults in making responsible and well-informed decisions. myHealth's vision is that one day all young people will be educated and empowered to make responsible decisions regarding their health and relationships.

In 1971, a local group of health care providers, school professionals, law enforcement, church officials, and high school students engaged in a planning process to address an increase in unplanned pregnancies and the emergence of sexually transmitted infections, in the context of a rapidly increasing youth population in the area. The planning group further acknowledged that, as an age group, teens and young adults were less likely than any others to seek out preventative services. West Suburban Teen Clinic was the result of their work and opened in 1972. In 2012, we changed our name to myHealth for Teens & Young Adults.

For 43 years, myHealth has offered comprehensive, preventative and youth-focused Clinical Services.  myHealth is unique in the variety of adolescent-focused services offered under one roof, including medical care, outreach and education, mental health care, and youth development.  Services are offered through three main programs:  Clinical Services, Community Education, and Becoming – our program for pregnant and parenting teens.  myHealth is one of the only providers of subsidized, confidential, adolescent-focused physical and mental health care in an area larger than 1,200 square miles.
